  • A fire on November 19, 2019 required a closure. Chantecler was expected to reopen late summer 2020 but COVID-19 delayed this. The butcher shop Le Phénix opened across the street as a temporary replacement starting January 2020.
  • In April 2021 ownership of the Queen Street location changed and Chantecler at this site was permanently closed (see Toronto Star).
  • Chantecler reopened as Bar Chantecler in the spring of 2023 in Bloorcourt Village.
