In 2000, the property was sold and divided into two parts. The horseshoe-shaped main hotel is now under the management of Hyatt as the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza.
The newer tower was originally renamed renamed the St. Regis Los Angeles, but has now been razed and development has begun on The Century condominiums.
