  • Michael has hosted three Food Network Canada TV cooking series: The Inn Chef; Chef at Large; and Chef at Home. In 2001 The James Beard Foundation named The Inn Chef the best TV cooking show or special.
  • Chef Smith was head chef at the Athlete's Village in Whistler, British Columbia during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
