- Opened as Gladstone's 4 Fish; renamed Gladstone's Malibu in 1982.
- SBE Entertainment Group (2009)
- Originally scheduled to close October 2023; will remain open under new management for at least two years. Site eventually being replaced with a restaurant led by chef Wolfgang Puck and designed by architect Frank Gehry.
- Closed for ~6 months at the beginning of 2025 because of damage caused by the Palisades fire. Auxiliary kitchen and public deck reopened July 4, 2025.
